Siswa Bazar (सिसवा बाजार in Devanagari) is a small Indian town towards the east of the province of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, near the border with Nepal.The name of the town came from the market of Shessham trees which came from the rivers in Nepal. Hence, its original name was "Shesshamwa ke bazar", but over the years, it became known as Siswa Bazar.The population in this town is predominantly Hindu.This town is famous for a special sweet called HALWA SOHAN.A very famous astrologer and devotee of goddess Durga,Pd. Muni Lal Jha made this place centre of hope for all the needy people around this town.
Siswa Bazar is one of the oldest market towns in the district of Maharajganj of eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is about 62 km from Gorakhpur and situated to the east of Maharajganj on the arterial road connecting Nichlaul and Kaptanganj. The location of the town is 14 km east of Senduria, 12 km west of Kohar Gari and 12 km north of Bharwalia.Sohagibarwa Wildlife Sanctuary, a prominent tourist destination in the district, can be accessed.Siswa Bazar Railway Station falls on the Narkatiaganj-Gorakhpur rail route. Nearest airport is Varanasi Airport.Siswa bazar is an old and small but rich town. It is a multi flavoured coloured cultural town .Here is many schools ,three colleges and two degree colleges . One of them is of samskrit stream . In siswa here is an estste for long time.Here are many big businessmen.Great astrologer pt. sri Munilal jha lived here.He was well known as a great vaidic and tantrik scholar as well as great astrologer.....
